D2R – initiative that helps Ukrainian communities transform the challenges of destruction into opportunities for sustainable recovery.
The project aims to develop a systematic approach to debris management in Ukraine – focusing on safe demolition, sorting, and reuse of materials.
It promotes the principles of the circular economy, showing how waste can become a valuable resource for reconstruction and local development.
Project Objective
D2R is aimed at creating a practical construction and demolition waste management system in Ukraine, developing the circular economy, and ensuring the safe and sustainable reconstruction of communities.
Methodology RDMM
Develop a Replicable Debris Management Methodology (RDMM) for Ukrainian communities.
Circular business model
Create a Circular Comprehensive Business Model (CCBM) for local recovery processes.
The “Debris2Resource” approach
Implement the “Debris2Resource” approach – turning debris into valuable resources.
Community capacity building
Build municipal and institutional capacity
for safe debris management.

Prepare policy and legislative recommendations aligned with EU standards.
Pilot Cities
Irpin
The first platform for testing practical solutions and models of cooperation between the community, business and local authorities.
Role: Start-up regenerative hub, testing of RDMM methodology.

The next step is to scale the project, taking into account Irpen's experience.
Role: development of local solutions and recovery based on circular economy.

Consortium Partners
The consortium brings together experts in waste management, sustainable development, finance and municipal planning to implement solutions in the field of green reconstruction in Ukraine.
